Returning to ADAC GT Masters competition, Taylor Hagler stood on the podium in both PRO-AM races at the historic Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Hagler was joined by Gerhard Tweraser aboard the No. 19 TGI Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 entered by GRT Grasser Racing Team.
Hagler returned to European GT3 racing after making her GT Masters debut with GRT during the season opener at Oschersleben. The American was tasked with qualifying for the first race on Saturday where she secured fourth on the PRO-AM starting grid. Tweraser opened the one-hour race navigating traffic through the first two stints. Hagler took over the No. 19 Lamborghini at the second pit stop to finish out the race. After 33 laps, Hagler crossed the finish line in second place – her first GT Masters podium result.
On Sunday, Race 2 began with chaos as a collision in the lead pack forced Tweraser to take evasive action and continued in ninth – three places behind the starting position of sixth. Quick on-track navigation and strategy by the GRT team put the No. 19 Lamborghini in second when Tweraser came to pit lane for a driver change to Hagler. Hagler closed out the final stint to take the final spot on the PRO-AM podium.
ADAC GT Masters next heads to the Red Bull Ring for GRT’s home race on September 27-29, 2024. Hagler returns to the states for the penultimate IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race on September 20-21, 2024 before rejoining the GRT team.
Taylor Hagler, No. 19 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2: “We had a really good weekend here at Spa. I hadn’t been in the car in the ADAC GT Masters for quite a while and had a new team-mate here in Gerhard. The teamwork was fantastic and we showed that with two podium finishes. I’ve only been to this demanding track once before in my career and learnt a lot at the weekend. I think we’ve made good progress and I’m already looking forward to GRT’s home race at the Red Bull Ring.”
